Handmade four channels guitar preamplifier(EN)


Guitar preamplifier main features:

1.  4 Channels: Clean, Crunch, Lead uk ( this is a 80's heavy metall sound like channel ), Lead us ( this is a modern metall sound channel )

2.  Gain boost for lead channels

3.  3 band equalizer  (one for clean/crunch and one for Lead uk/lead us)

4.  2 x FX. LOOP  ( one for clean/crunch and one for lead uk/lead us)

5.  2X OUTPUTS ( AMPLIFIER OUT and MIXER/RECORDING OUT)

6.  MDI REMOTE ( Channels can be selected with MIDI prog. change messages )

7.  FOOT SWITCH remote 


This is the block diagram , helps to understand how to best integrate the preamp. in your gear.

Separate gain and volume adjustments for clean and crunch channels and 3 band equalizer shared by this two channels:
Separate gain and volume adjustments for LEAD UK  and LEAD US channels ,3 band equalizer and noise-gate  shared by this two channels:
You can see in the picture above there is also 2 switches for gain boost, when you need a more aggressive sound.
On the back panel  from left to right :
Input from guitar, FX LOOP 1 ( this is a loop , send , return, for plugging an external effect ) for the CLEAN/CRUNCH channels, next FX LOOP 2 ( and this is a loop , send , return, for plugging an external effect also) for the LEAD UK/LEAD US channels, then you can see there is a bypass switch ( also you can bypass the preamplifier by transmitting a program change 1 message on midi, and from 2 to 127 preamplifier will switch channels like: 2 for clean , 3 for crunch , 4 for lead uk , 5 for lead us , 6 for clean , 7 for crunch... until 127 ).
INPUT - SEND FX1 - RETURN FX1 - SEND FX2 - RETURN FX2- BYPASS SW



OUT GUITAR AMP - OUT MIXER/RECORDING DEVICE - FOOT SW - MIDI CONNECTOR - POWER 220V /110V

Next on the back panel (see the picture above) you can see the output section , output to guitar amp ( if you are using a P.A. and guitar cabinet) and a mixer / recorder out ( if you want to plug directly into a mixer or in a sound card for recording). the last two connectors are FOOTSW ( you can plug here a pedal with two momentary switches , one will switch between clean/crunch and one between lead uk/ lead us) and MIDI connector for program change messages ( see the explanation above).
